DataMIME (Data Model for Initiatives to Monitor Exposure to Antimicrobials) was a collaborative project with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Sentinel Initiative and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) to monitor and report antimicrobial usage.

Funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and the FDA, DataMIME extended the use of the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network (PCORnet) Common Data Model (CDM) to develop and pilot tools for monitoring and reporting hospital antimicrobial use. Participating sites included: Cook County Health, Loyola University Medical Center, Baylor Scott & White Health, Rush University Medical Center, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
